Overlooking Ala Moana Beach Park, Waiea will reach 36 floors when it’s completed in 2016. The tower has 171 residencies and is 90% sold. The two penthouses in the Waiea development are priced at $36 million and $35 million — which, if buyers take the bait, will be the highest prices ever paid for a condo in Hawaii. Suites feature floor-to-ceiling windows and high ceilings, with some of the larger units featuring private foyer entrances. Spacious master bathrooms have free-standing tubs, onyx walls and rain showers with polished quartz composite counters. Kitchens have a complete suite of Miele kitchen appliances, including gas cooktops, and European-styled cabinetry.
Amenities on the eighth floor include a fitness centre, luxury spa, library, small theatre and performance centre and oceanview bar. A lushly planted outdoor space also provides a place to lounge beneath the shade of trees or swim in a large pool, which will have an infinity edge that aligns with the horizon. For golfers, there is a full-sized golf simulator. Residents will also be able to invite their friends to stay in guest suites in the building. Another big perk of buying into the building: residents can get room service from world-famous sushi restaurant Nobu. Celebrity favorite chef Nobu Matsuhisa is relocating his Oahu restaurant from Waikiki to the base of Waiea.
